Si tratta di un ottimo articolo. Scrivo sotto la foto una mia breve integrazione.

Ortlund scrive: “Anche se non hai colpe nella situazione che si è venuta a creare, è giusto pentirsi per conto della chiesa o del gruppo, perché tutti siamo un solo corpo e siamo spiritualmente uniti l’uno all’altro.” Pietro: Qui posso essere d’accordo.
Poi egli prosegue: “Spesso, se investigassimo nel nostro cuore, scopriremmo che in un modo o nell’altro abbiamo contribuito al problema, specialmente quando consideriamo peccati di omissione come la mancanza di preghiera, oltre ai peccati commessi.” Pietro: Credo di capire quello che vuole dire qui Ortlund. Nonostante ciò, ci sono casi in cui gli altri sono semplicemente vittime che subiscono le conseguenze del peccato altrui.
A questo punto aggiunge: “E infine, quando vediamo un leader cadere, possiamo lottare contro lo spirito di critica ricordando a noi stessi: ‘Anch’io farei la stessa fine, se non fosse per la grazia di Dio’. Rimaniamo in piedi solo per grazia. Come ci avverte Paolo, ‘Non insuperbirti ma temi”’ (Romani 11:20).” Pietro: Qui concordo pienamente.
Io Pietro concludo con 1 Corinzi 10:12, rivolgendo a me stesso tale esortazione: “Perciò, chi pensa di stare in piedi guardi di non cadere.” Grazie per le vostre preghiere per me e per altri leader cristiani!

An additional thought in English
Ortlund writes: “Even if we were blameless in the matter, it is appropriate to repent on behalf of the church or group, since we are all one body and spiritually united to one another.” Pietro: Here I agree.
He continues: “So often if we search our hearts, we can find ways we have contributed to the problem, especially when we consider sins of omission like prayerlessness in addition to sins of commission.” Pietro: I think I understand what Ortlund means here. Nonetheless, there are situations where other people are simply victims who endure the consequences of someone else’s sin.
He then adds: “At the very least, when we see a leader stumble, we can fight a critical spirit by reminding ourselves, ‘That is where I would be but for the grace of God’. We stand only by grace. As Paul warns, ‘Do not become proud, but fear’ (Romans 11:20).” Pietro: Here I agree wholeheartedly.
I, Pietro, conclude with 1 Corinthians 10:12, addressing it to myself: “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!” Thank you for your prayers for me and for other Christian leaders!
